1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use comparable technologies such as localStorage; for simplicity we refer to them all as “cookies” in this policy.

2. How we use cookies

We split cookies into two buckets. Strictly necessarycookies are required to deliver the Service (sign-in, security, load balancing) — these always run. Optionalcookies (analytics, performance) only run after you click “Accept” in the consent banner.

3. Cookies we set

• Authentication (necessary) — set by Clerk to keep you signed in.
• Consent state (necessary) — visuan.cookie-consent in localStorage, stores your choice so we don’t ask again.
• Analytics (optional) — only loaded after consent. We use PostHog (EU Cloud) to understand product usage and funnels. PostHog stores an anonymous distinct ID, a session ID, and — once you sign in — your Clerk user ID, in a cookie named ph_*_posthog and matching localStorage entries. See PostHog’s privacy notice.

4. Changing your choice

Open Cookie settings in the site footer at any time to change or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection immediately; you can also clear the visuan.cookie-consent entry and any ph_*entries in your browser’s site data to remove existing analytics identifiers.
